Information about the Foundation
The Maybutnie Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 by a well-known public figure and businessman Sergiy Kasianov.
For many years, the Foundation has been helping the Ukrainian state and its citizens to solve important problems in the most critical periods.
In particular, CF Maybutnie actively helped the development of united territorial communities, investing in the education system and medicine of the Dnipro region. During the COVID-19 pandemic, support was provided to vulnerable groups of the population donating medicines, food products, clothing, and protective equipment.
As part of the “Healthy Nation” Program, we took a number of steps to develop the material base of medical institutions and purchase badly needed equipment for hospitals.
The Foundation provided significant assistance to ATO soldiers, delivering food, medicine, and building materials to combat units, rendering financial assistance to the families of fallen soldiers, and launching programs for the social adaptation of Ukraine’s defenders. From the very beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, CF Maybutnie has focused its efforts on helping the front and the rear. Offices and transport and logistics hubs opened up in Chernivtsi, Dnipro, Lugano (Switzerland), and Bucharest (Romania).
More than 40 Foundation’s employees are involved in volunteer activities for collecting applications from regional headquarters in Ukraine and delivering humanitarian goods. These include program administrators and office workers, drivers and forwarders, warehouse staff and accountants.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation is the outstanding Ukrainian traumatologist with a world-known name, Professor Oleksandr Loskutov, the author of 202 scientific works and 34 inventions.
The Foundation cooperates with a number of European organizations, including German clinics, Swiss public organizations, British charitable foundations, etc.
Since the beginning of the war, the Foundation has organized the purchase and delivered to Ukraine the material resources needed at the Ukrainian front and rear for a total amount of about 400,000 euros. First of all, these are badly needed medicines and medical materials, as well as wheelchairs, first-aid kits, walkie-talkies, berets, warm clothes and shoes, etc. Also, in order to ensure more effective work of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Chernivtsi region, Euro-5 diesel fuel for the total amount of 1 million 160 thousand UAH was purchased and transferred for its needs.
The main efforts go to supply of badly needed medicines and equipment in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv, with the largest number of wounded Ukrainian soldiers and civilians recorded and treated.
History of the Foundation
The Maybutnie Charitable Foundation was established in 2000 by initiative of Sergiy P. Kasianov. He has headed the Supervisory Board of the charitable foundation.
The first major CF Maybutnie’s project was the construction of the Diocesan Center in Dnipropetrovsk. The foundation financed the erection of the building’s case. Later, other partners joined the construction. In 2006, the Diocesan Center was solemnly opened. The building houses a diocesan administration, Sunday school, library, press center, publishing, educational and charitable and other departments of the diocese.
In 2002, Sergiy Kasyanov was elected a parliamentary at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the 37th electoral district. The district included Apostolivskyi, Kryvorizkyi village, Shirokivskyi, Sofiivskyi districts and the town of Ordzhonikidze of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The predominantly rural district had many problems, both economic and social. Therefore, Sergiy Kasianov decided that social programs would be the main priorities for the Maybutnie charitable foundation.
The Foundation developed, approved and implemented the “Boards of Trustees for Territories” Program.
The idea behind the program is to create boards of trustees in settlements, consisting of representatives of local councils and socially active village residents. The general meeting of residents of settlements would have problematic situations on the agenda to decide on the ways to solve them. An application would then be submitted with a request for help in solving the problem to the chairman of the Foundation’s supervisory board. Possible contributions of project participants (individuals, legal entities, administration) were also indicated. Over 100 boards of trustees launched during the 4 years of the program. More than 70 micro-projects have been fully completed, including renovations of schools and kindergartens, purchase of computer equipment for educational institutions, purchase and repair of school buses, restoration of water pumps, drilling of water wells, laying and repair of water pipes and much more. The main principle of the program was the unification and interaction by authorities, businesses and residents to solve social problems.
Being a parliamentary of Ukraine, Sergiy Kasianov attracted to the Dnipropetrovsk region the Ukrainian Social Investment Foundation, whose activities are aimed at solving social problems in the most depressed areas of the region. Such was the case with the Sofiivskyi district, where the lack of drinking water in the villages was a huge problem. The joint work of the two Foundations, namely USIF and CF Maybutnie led to the appearance of several micro-projects in the Sofiivskyi district. One of the USIF’s criteria to embark on a project is the participation of the community itself and its residents in solving problems. USIF provided 90% of the cost of the projects. The rest had to be paid by local budgets and village inhabitants themselves. Under these conditions, all planned micro-projects were completed. 13 micro-projects included the construction of water pipelines with some UAH 6.5 million investments attracted.
The Foundation has also cooperated closely with international charitable organizations. In such a way, the "Help in Organizing Own Business" grants were implemented jointly with the OSCE, as well as "Gender Portrait of the Southern Dnipro Region" with the Canadian agency for international development, the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine, and the Canadian-Ukrainian Gender Foundation.
The direction of the Foundation 's activity was mainly social programs, so in 2004 the Foundation was officially renamed to the Maybutnie Charity Foundation for Social Development (CFSD).
During its existence, the Maybutnie CFSD has implemented projects both in rural and urban areas. The directions of the projects remained unchanged, improving the residents’ social well-being. However, previously successfully solved tasks show that the Foundation's activity in rural areas has a higher priority, since villages are currently more depressed than cities. The village is aging, young people opt to live in cities. Therefore, the Foundation's task is to improve the life of the rural population in such a way that young people would stay to live and work at home. There are not many jobs in rural areas, understanding this, the Foundation offers a program for the population self-employment. With a difficult state of the utility sector, the Foundation acts as an initiator and mediator in attracting investments to upgrade and turn the utility industry into a modern one.
